Thank you

I just needed a new $325 ignition. It looks like I won’t reach my deductible.
I did save on the towing though. AAA is pretty good about those things.
I also went and bought a steering wheel lock. We’ll see iif it works.

The police don’t know who did it

The buttheads damaged my Army Veteran Sticker. If I ever catch the person, I will be a person they wish they have never met.
The car is in one piece. I’ll need a new ignition and key. I’m thinking of buying a club. It’s too old to be stolen for parts, so hopefully I can find something to deter the stupid joyriders. I’m also thinking of a blinking red LED light to make them think it has an alarm.
My co-workers are surprised that I’m relatively calm. You can be when you have a 5 month EF. So close to the 6 month one. It’s true, this does feel like an inconvenience. And since it’s the second time, I’ve had a practice run, unfortunately.
The Dave way does work. It takes a while but it works. I like the crock-pot method and I’m glad I don’t have to go car shopping this weekend.

Yes that’s right

My 1996 paid for Honda was stolen again. My coworkers were surprised at how calm I was.
It’s paid for so I don’t have car payments with no car. We also have a nice emergency fund to use. Now I’m not getting another $10,000 used car since the cash value of mine is only about $2000. A $6000 car will work just fine.
I’m more annoyed that I just put new tires on it.
The other good thing is that the police found it last night. I hope there’s not enough damage to total it since it wouldn’t take much.
If it’s fixable, I think I might put a GPS tracker in it. My car is easy to steal.

No homework

I received a notice from the IRS that I owe $1107 on my 2013 taxes filed last year. I’m sure it’s related wither to Unemployment compensation(where tax wasn’t withheld) or an IRA that I withdrew money from to survive. But I thought the IRA was already accounted for. 🙁
I *have* the money, thanks to my BEF…but CRAP…
